John Upton

Groundsman and Club Development Manager

John Upton has had a long association with the club. He was an accomplished all rounder bowling off spin and hard hitting batsman. Now he is recongnised as an excellent groundsman so much so that he was recently appointed in 2008 to become the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Board pitch advisor. He also serves on the committee of the LRCB and on the committee of the Leicestershire and Rutland Groundsman Association. Like his good friend John Williamson he has been instrumental is guiding the club through various stages of development and has worked hard behind the scenes to help the club attain Focus Club and Clubmark status.
